Shayne Mallard MLC

Shayne is a member of the Parliament of New South Wales, elected to the Legislative Council in March 2015. He is a representative of the Liberal Party of Australia.

Before going into Parliament, Shayne was a local councillor at South Sydney Council and City of Sydney Council where he was the first Liberal councillor elected.

Shayne knows what it takes to run a small business, having owned successful horticulture and hospitality businesses.  He has a Bachelor’s degree from Macquarie University in Australian History and Politics.

Shayne joined the Liberal party in 1987 and became the party’s youth wing leader as the NSW Young Liberal State President in 1993.  He has enjoyed an extensive career within the party organization.

Shayne was raised in the greater Western region of Penrith and the lower Blue Mountains. After a successful local government career in the inner city he has now moved back to the region and the beautiful Blue Mountains with his Danish born partner. 

Outside of work you are likely to find Shayne in his garden, enjoying art or riding his bike.
