AUS MUSIC T-SHIRT DAY

The Parliamentary Friends of Music, which I Chair, this week we came together to celebrate Ausmusic T-shirt Day.

Ausmusic T-Shirt Day is a nation-wide celebration of Australian music that reminds us how lucky we are to have such a strong local music scene, with many highly talented and successful artists across all genres of music.

The day is used to raise money for Support Act, a charity helping artists and music workers who are facing hardship due to illness, injury or some other crisis that impacts on their ability to work in music.

As we all know, this year has been a COVID-19 driven disaster for live music, with tours and festivals cancelled; venues closed and careers put on hold. Practically everyone working in live music - that’s artists, crew and music workers – have suffered a loss of work and income, and whilst Sydney and NSW is celebrating the return of COVID-safe gigs thanks to initiatives like Great Southern Nights the future is still uncertain. So please help us to raise funds for all those in music who are doing it tough this year, and participate in Ausmusic T-Shirt Day!

To celebrate Ausmusic T-shirt Day Members from across the Parliament came together to take a group photo on the front stairs of Parliament in support of this great cause.
