I was pleased to speak on the recent NSW State Budget at a public talk Springwood on Sunday.
Springwood-Winmalee Liberals president Owen Laffin stated “He dispelled Labor's ongoing misinformation campaign about upgrades to Blue Mountains trains and highlighted a number of budget items including record spending in health, education, social services and infrastructure across NSW and in the Blue Mountains more specifically,”
“Locals had the opportunity to ask Mr Mallard a range of questions relating to what the budget means for our local communities here in the Blue Mountains, and were specifically interested in upcoming upgrades to Glenbrook and Hazelbrook train stations as well as plans for mental health services and the Blue Mountains Hospital.”
Rosa Del Ponte from Soul Kitchen in Katoomba also spoke at the public event, highlighting the needs Upper Mountains residents living in precarious situations and the benefits of forming partnerships with the business community and local churches as well as help she received from former Blue Mountains MP Roza Sage.
The event was held at the Oriental Hotel. Residents who attended included representatives from the Mountains Combined Chambers of Commerce, Blaxland Chamber of Commerce and the Leura Village Association.
