THE NEW BLUE MOUNTAINS EXPRESS

I welcome the announcement made today by the Minister for Transport the Hon. Andrew Constance of more trains for the Blue Mountains.  As a local I’ve experienced the overcrowded trains on weekends in particular as tourists and visitors rediscover the magic of the Blue Mountains in droves. Tourism is a major employer and driver of economic growth in our region and the additional 24 train services will help meet the growth in visitors and improve their experience when journeying through the picturesque region. I congratulate the Minister for responding to local business and community calls for more services to the region and look forward to the already announced investment to upgrade the Blue Mountains line and introduce new state of the art inter urban trains which will positively transform the visitor and commuter experience even more. Commuters and tourists will have more express services, more seats and reduced travel times to popular Blue Mountains destinations following a major surge in demand. Continue reading
