Today the NSW Treasurer Dominic Perrottet delivered the state budget with a headline of a $3.9 billion surplus and negative state debt (i.e. cash positive). This magnificent budget is a complete turnaround on what we inherited in 2011 and is a credit to fiscal discipline and reformist zeal of the Berejiklian, Baird and O’Farrell governments.
I welcome the record investments in families, community services, health and education whilst at the same time cutting taxes on small businesses and continuing our record investment in economy strengthening infrastructure. As the Treasurer said “This year’s budget delivers the benefits of our strong financial management to the people of NSW.”
